Kid & Youth Ministries at Living Word Ministries Create Safe, Age-Appropriate Environments Where Children & Teens Learn God’s Word, Form Real Friendships, & Feel Free to Be Themselves

From nursery and early childhood through middle and high school, LWM Kids & Youth are designed to be clear, calm, and age-appropriate so Sundays feel easier for parents and more fun for kids. Explore how each ministry is structured, what’s taught, and how the LWM Leadership helps your children feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.

LWM KIDS

LWM Kids aims to help children genuinely enjoy learning about God, not just sit through another “class.” Kids ages 2 through 6th grade step into lessons that feel more like storytime, adventure, and discovery than schoolwork because they are interactive, story-rich, and full of age-appropriate creativity. Leaders use visuals, questions, and hands-on activities that grab attention, spark imagination, and keep curiosity alive. Kids are encouraged to think, respond, move, and explore rather than simply sit and listen from the sidelines. As they act out Bible stories, build simple object lessons, and talk about real-life examples, faith starts to feel connected to their actual world. Over time, many children begin to associate learning about God with curiosity, joy, and a sense of wonder instead of boredom or pressure. Those small, weekly moments in LWM Kids help form a warm foundation where knowing God feels engaging, inviting, and deeply personal.

See How LWM Kids Combines Bible Stories, Art, & Play to Grow Lasting Faith in Children

  • Story-Driven Lessons: Teaching for LWM Kids centers on compelling Bible stories rather than dry lectures, pulling kids into the narrative.

  • Interactive Questions: Leaders ask open-ended questions that invite kids to think and respond, not just recite answers.

  • Creative Tools: Props, pictures, simple object lessons, and role-play help kids “see” and “feel” the story.

  • Celebrating Curiosity: Leaders affirm when kids ask thoughtful questions or make connections, reinforcing that God welcomes their curiosity.

  • Joyful Tone: The overall atmosphere is one of delight and discovery, not pressure or performance, making theology feel approachable.

LWM YOUTH GROUP

LWM Youth Group teaches teens how to reflect on the past week or month and actually notice where God has been at work in their real, everyday lives. Once a month during Sunday service, students gather together as a group to share stories about moments of encouragement, protection, conviction, or unexpected joy with trusted leaders and friends. Leaders then guide them in recognizing these moments not as random events, but as possible fingerprints of God’s care and steady presence. As they do, teens begin to realize that God is not just present in church, but in bus rides, work shifts, family dinners, and quiet walks through the valley. They’re encouraged to keep a mental or written record of these moments so they can remember God’s faithfulness when life feels confusing. Over time, LWM Youth Group trains students to recognize their lives as part of an ongoing story God is writing with them, one ordinary day at a time.

Learn How LWM Youth Group Helps Teens Open Up, Recognize God, & Find Strength in Their Faith

  • Safe Space to Share: LWM Youth Group provides teens a relaxed, judgment-free environment each month to discuss their real-life experiences and where they think God might be at work.

  • Turning Moments Into God Stories: Leaders gently help students see those “random” moments of encouragement, protection, conviction, or joy as possible God-moments, not just coincidences.

  • Seeing God in Everyday Life: Teens learn to look for God not only in church, but on bus rides, work shifts, family dinners, and quiet walks when they need peace.

  • Remembering When Life Feels Confusing: Students are encouraged to keep a mental or written record of these moments so, on hard days, they can look back and be reminded that God is always with them.

  • Living Inside God’s Bigger Story: Over time, students begin to see their own lives as part of a larger story God is writing with them, which brings comfort, purpose, and hope.
